A response to GAP & GQ’s stupid decision to sell a Manifest Destiny shirt, now officially pulled. According to Salon,
The shirt’s designer, Mark McNairy, took to Twitter with an early, ill-thought defense of his work. “Manifest Destiny! Survival of the Fittest!” he wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted, but was swiftly decried on Facebook.
McNairy followed it up with an equally awful apology on Twitter, “I AM SORRY FOR MY SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST COMMENT. IT HURT ME DEEPLY TO BE CALLED A RACIST AS THAT IS NOT ME. I REACTED WITHOUT THINKING.”
“It hurt me to be called racist”, GAP should consider selling that on tee.
