Today in Useful Fucking Things That No One Tells You About: the Prescription Assistance Program (PAP) offers a discount drug card to uninsured Americans. The card is accepted at over 56,000 pharmacies nationwide, including CVS, RiteAid, Walgreens, and Safeway, and offers a discount of up to 75%.
I was fired a few years ago and was afraid I would have to give up my antidepressants, but my dad told me about the drug card. With it, I paid $30 instead of $60. Still kinda pricey, but I was able to afford them until I found a new job (and since they were for my social anxiety, I have no doubt they helped during interviews).
Share this. I’m sure there are a ton of unemployed and uninsured people who don’t know about this.
So important, definitely spread this.
That one time I wasn’t on psych meds because I couldn’t afford them.

Really great, simple, informative video. Spread widely!
(and yes, while they refer to abortion as a women’s health issue, they certainly mean to be talking about all uterus-possessing folks)
You have 72 hours after birth control failure or unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy. The sooner you take emergency contraception, the better it works. Plan B One-Step™ is available over the counter for consumers 17 and older.
Present this at any retail pharmacy (it can’t be used at government subsidized clinics, unfortunately) for up to two purchases of Plan B One-Step™. It’s valid for both prescription and non-prescription purchases.
Reblog so your followers can have it, too!

Dear Arthur,
We often hear from transgender people and doctors who are confused about what Medicare benefits do and don’t cover. To address these questions, we’ve created a new resource that transgender beneficiaries and doctors need to see.
The new resource explains that, while Medicare does not cover sex reassignment surgery, it does cover medically necessary hormone therapy and routine preventive care, regardless of the gender marker in one’s records. It also details how to navigate the appeal process if you are denied coverage.
As part of our ongoing federal aging policy agenda, NCTE will continue advocating for sex reassignment surgery coverage in Medicare and ensure that transgender needs are fully addressed in all public health programs.
But what your doctor doesn’t know can hurt you. Download and share this resource with doctors and providers to make sure you are getting the coverage you need.
Sincerely,
